The week after our appearance on Nova TV’s *Wake Up for Them*, we had plenty of wonderful tasks to get on with! As well as fulfilling orders for Lafetki, we also had a conversation with the PR officer for the Minister of Labour and Social Policy, and we’re aiming to meet next week to discuss how we can support one another, so that Lafetki can reach more people and we can start employing people with special needs under the Human Resources Development Programme. Thanks to the programme, we’ve also established a new business partnership, which will enable us to take part in a charity bazaar in December and support even more children.
Following our appearance on Nova TV, we consider Lafetki to be a mature product and will soon be launching it on its own website with new branding and a social media presence. We’ll also be launching at least one new range by the end of the year, specifically for Christmas gifts for family and friends 🎁
We’re also working hard on our application for the EEA Civil Society Fund’s small projects competition in Bulgaria. Our project aims to test, on a small scale, our idea of acting as a private employment agency connecting vulnerable young people with employers. As we’re only one year old and don’t have a large portfolio of completed projects, our chances aren’t great, but it’s important to gain experience through the application process.
On a very small scale, we are continuing to work with a young person who has left a residential care home; we have helped him draft a CV and a cover letter and supported him in applying for a job. Today we have a meeting to help him renew his identity card; the funds for this will come from the foundation. All these things are difficult for someone with no experience and no computer, and they help us understand where what kind of help is needed and where to focus our efforts.
