Amidst the team’s holidays, we’re busy printing T-shirts, packing Lafetki and applying stickers, and we plan to be ready to fulfil orders next week. Thanks to your orders for Lafetki, as well as the T-shirts we’re printing for our friends at Experian Bulgaria, we’ll be able to fund further therapy sessions for children at the Iris Centre in Varna.
As we’ve mentioned before, the Iris Centre supports children with various special needs (we deliberately avoid the term ‘disabilities’). They cook, draw, have speech therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists, and they also organise additional therapies for them – swimming, horse riding, as well as the three therapies we’re helping to fund: biofeedback, neurofeedback and the sensory room. You can read here how they work and why they are beneficial for the children.
In June we supported 31 children, and in July 29. That amounts to €930 for therapies in June and €870 for July. So far in August, we’ve been able to support around 10 children, thanks to the T-shirt orders. If you’d like to support further therapies for the children, you can do so by making a donation or placing an order from our shop.
Beyond that, we’re working on the project to employ vulnerable young people, and we’re learning a great deal from it. It will be very challenging for us, but also extremely useful for our long-term goal of setting up a private job exchange for vulnerable young people.
