The packages have arrived 🎉
A week late and 8 days before the party — but they’ve arrived. The packaging for our Lafetki is here and the size is spot on. It was risky to plan an event before we had a fully finished product, but this time it worked out.
All that’s left is to finalise and print the stickers, stuff 100 packs of 20 napkins into envelopes, and stick the labels on. We’re packing the first 100 packs ourselves to get to grips with the process and make sure the prototype looks good. We’ll delegate the rest to the young people at the Iris Centre.
Iris Centre has secured funding for early diagnosis 🏆
Our partners at the Iris Centre are among the 8 organisations selected in the BCause Foundation’s ‘Children’s Health Fund 2026’ competition — out of a total of 30 applicants. Their project provides early diagnosis for developmental issues in 20 children from vulnerable groups.
We feel this is a victory for us too — we’ve been scouring for funding recently and sent them the details of this competition. Congratulations to Iris! We’re delighted that they’ll be helping more children and parents receive support early on — when it matters most.
Meeting with the Give Time Foundation 🎬
We had a meeting with our friends from the Give Time Foundation, which has been supporting children growing up without parental care for 15 years now. We discussed our plans to set up a private job exchange for vulnerable young people and how to teach them social skills and emotional intelligence. We plan to run the first pilot training session for their School for the Future in September.
If you’re free on 24 May from 1 pm at the Odeon cinema — we highly recommend watching their film, dedicated to 15 years of Podari Vreme. Fifteen heart-warming stories about children and volunteers. And on their website, you can now find scratch cards featuring words of wisdom from the children in the care homes.

Just a quick reminder about the event of the year – the Lafetki party, where we’ll be showing them off to the world for the first time, stuffing them with food and washing it all down with drinks, having a laugh and having the time of our lives.
